Barbara has always had an interest in Health and Fitness. As she searched for the right modality she attended UCLA's Personal Training Program, taught aerobics, and tried numerous forms of group exercise, but none of them seemed to be the right fit for her as a career.
Finally, after years (decades) of searching she tried Pilates at the recommendation of a client. It didn't take long for her to realize that she had found what she had been looking for; the attention to detail along with the mind/body connection was right up her alley. Barbara soon started the rigorous Pilates Teacher Training Program with Marie Jose Blom at LBDC in Long Beach, California and within the year earned her certification. She was mentored at the Pilates Studio where she took her first classes and taught there for the next 5 years. She developed a large and loyal group of students, not only teaching all-level reformer classes but designing and teaching specialty classes as well.
She then moved to Corona, California where she was given several class times that seemed impossible for the studio owner to fill. Within weeks her classes were not only full, but often had a waiting list.
During this time Barbara and her husband Chris purchased a home in Prescott, Arizona. They loved the town and its people and visited whenever their schedules would permit.
After 6 years of experience teaching group classes and private sessions in Southern California, Barbara moved to Prescott and started giving private lessons. She has recently relocated to Chino Valley, Arizona, and is excited to share her knowledge and passion in her home studio. She feels blessed to be able to do what she loves in a place that she loves, with some of the nicest and friendliest people she has ever had the opportunity to meet.
Whether your goals are balance, fitness, flexibility, or rehab, Barbara is sure to help you realize them. She takes a practical approach to your fitness; assessing where strength, stretching or alignment is needed and applying what she has learned. She will bring you into your body and work as a team with you to be the best you can be.

To many the Pilates Reformer looks foreign, even a bit scary, but there is nothing to fear.
The Reformer uses springs to add resistance to movement which can increase a challenge or assist the user as they train.
